National Data Center
The mandate of the National Identification Authority (NIA) is to ensure that lawfully registered Ghanaian and permanently resident non-Ghanaian applicants receive their national identity cards.

In order to make this happen, the NIA has already received some card printing equipment and accessories from its technical partners SAGEM Securite’ of France. SAGEM Securite’ has also sent some blank cards and additional materials to be used for the card printing or card customisation process.

The National Data Centre is gradually being established on the fourth (4th) floor of the National Identification Authority (NIA) Headquarters.

SAGEM Securite’ sent seven (7) highly qualified technicians to assess the space

on the said floor, install the equipment and see to the temporary connection required for the successful implementation of this aspect of the project.

The equipment that has been received must go through the Complete Acceptance Test (CAT) process to examine how the machines work and to ensure that they are functioning properly.

A temporary connection has thus been established on the said floor to conduct the Complete Acceptance Test (CAT) process.
In order for the CAT process to happen, trainable individuals need to be recruited by the Authority. In line with this, the technically specialised positions were advertised in the November 24 and December 1, 2008 editions of the Ghanaian Times and Daily Graphic newspapers respectively.

Interested individuals who deemed themselves qualified enough to execute the job sent in their applications and the short listing has already been done.

The successfully interviewed applicants who are selected will go through training on Card Production or Card Customisation. This will allow the CAT process to be followed and duly completed.
